- Consequences for any academic misconduct may include suspension, expulsion, or failure of the assignment or exam.
- Upholding the highest standards of academic integrity is expected of students, who are encouraged to report suspected code of conduct violations to the appropriate authority.
- Educating students about academic integrity and enforcing the code of conduct is the responsibility of teachers and instructors.
- The academic code of conduct applies to all students enrolled in St. Dominic High School, regardless of their academic level or program.
1. Students must carry their almanac (diary) to school every day, with their photograph and identification information complete and signed by their parents.
2. Students must be neatly dressed in school uniform on all working days. Strict action will be taken against individuals who fail to comply with the school’s uniform regulations, which include wearing skirts/trousers that are not low-waisted and ensuring that shirts are correctly tucked in.
3. Boys should have their hair cut periodically, with no spikes/streaks allowed. Boys in senior classes must shave regularly.
4. It is compulsory for girls to plait their hair if it is below their shoulders, while shorter hair should be kept neatly trimmed and pinned.
5. Students are expected to be respectful of others’ belongings, including school property. Students should not damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on walls or furniture, or damage anything that belongs to others. Any damage must be reported immediately to the class teacher or principal, and the student responsible will be held accountable for the damage.
6. The school is not responsible for lost goods, so it is advisable to refrain from bringing valuable articles (such as expensive watches, pens, mobiles, iPods, cameras, pen drives, CDs, etc.) to school. In the event that a student is caught with any of these valuable items, they will be confiscated and not be given back.
7. Wearing any type of jewellery, such as necklaces, rings, bracelets, bangles, etc., is prohibited for students while attending school. Girls may wear only one set of earrings or studs.
8. Students should maintain a courteous demeanor at all times, as their conduct is a reflection of the school. They are expected to greet their teachers when encountering them, and any form of bullying or inappropriate language will result in punishment.
9. The school has the authority to suspend or implement severe disciplinary measures on a student whose academic performance, or progress is persistently unsatisfactory or whose behavior poses a threat to other students.
10. Once a child has come to school, they should not be taken home on half-day leave unless there is a genuine underlying reason. Short leaves will not be granted under any circumstances on the weekly test days. If a student writes the test and then leaves, they will be marked absent for that day.
11. Students are required to have their report cards signed by their parents or guardians within five days of receiving them and handing them over to their respective class teachers. A fine will be imposed if they are lost.
12. It is mandatory for students to attend all scheduled classes, games, library sessions, and activities without fail.
13. Students should refrain from participating in any of the following activities: spitting inside or outside the school premises, vandalizing or harming any school property, smoking, gambling, being disorderly or impolite, resorting to violence, or engaging in discriminatory behavior such as casteism, communalism, or untouchability.
14. Students are not allowed to drive down to school under any circumstances. Strict action will be taken against students who violate this rule.
15. Students are expected to maintain discipline while traveling on the school bus.
16. The bus facility will be withdrawn immediately if they are found misbehaving. The observance of the school’s rules of discipline and good behavior is essential to a student’s continuance in the school. Strict action, such as expulsion/suspension/restriction, will be taken against any student who violates the school rules or engages in any form of indiscipline.
